Arthel had dreams of pursuing her career as a model, and that’s why she moved to NYC after high school.

She made her appearance in Soap Operas and commercials. After some time, her interest shifted to Journalism.

She began her career while she was pursuing her Bachelor’s in Journalism.

Her first working experience was as a general task correspondent at KVUE-TV, where she had to cover several social issues.

Additionally, she is also known as the first female African-American to be on air at KVUE.

After graduation, she moved to New Orleans.

Immediately, she started working for WWL as a journalist /anchor for a few years.

In 1998, she moved back to Texas to work as a correspondent for Houston’s KHOU-TV for a year.

Then, she returned to New Orleans again and worked as an anchor at WVUE.

Arthel’s career took a big turn when she started working as a host for Extreme Closeup- E!.

While she was working there, she hosted over 200 interviews with famous stars within three years.

Eventually, she made her mark as the country’s first dark female amusement columnist.
