In a 2018 interview, like a couch chat with Steve Harvey, alongside her colleague Kevin Frazier, Turner revealed a roadblock in her personal life.

Turner is not one of those who comes off as an open book when it comes to her personal life.

The University of Missouri graduate revealed that she had been seeing a guy for about six months.

Unfortunately, their relationship came to an end. Well, not exactly an end but more like something that indicates an eventual dead-end.

In a talk session with Steve Harvey, Turner revealed her phobia of sitting on a couch that’s inside of her co-host Kevin Frazier’s office.

That couch is the first piece of furniture Kevin bought when he came to California. Right around the time, Kevin got divorced from his first wife.

When Kevin got married again in 2006, to Yazmin Cader Frazier, she forbid him from bringing the couch to their new home.

Naturally, Kevin bought his first furniture after moving to California, one he loves so much, to his office.

The reason why Nischelle sits on the floor rather than sit on the couch is because of one simple yet extremely funny reason.

 She calls it “The Sex-Couch.”

The first piece of furniture that he [Kevin] bought when he got divorced, you know what was going on-on that couch. And I refuse to touch it with a 10-foot pole.”

When Steve calmly suggested if Kevin was just sleeping on the couch, Turner asked him would he [Steve] would come to Kevin’s office and sit on the couch.

Turner Almost Dated Rapper “Common”

Yes, the famous and absolutely handsome rapper and actor Common, real name Lonnie Corant Jaman Shuka Rashid Lynn.

As it happens, Turner and Common have had flirty sessions with each other. Moreover, Turner even asked him out for coffee.

Steve Harvey also mentioned how Common showed interest in taking Nischelle out [on a date.]

Even though there was a green light on both streets, their flirty exchanges did not materialize into a relationship.

Turner said how by the time she was thinking about anything serious, Common had already begun dating someone else.

Turner was born to mother Jacqueline J. Turner, who took care of Nischelle as a single mother.

Facing Racism

Turner, as she calls herself, a woman of color, has faced her fair share of events filled with racism.

On August 6, 2019, Turner faced an event that shook her to the core. While driving on her way, after an amazing interview with Oprah Winfrey and Michael B. Jordan, a couple of white men verbally assaulted her.

The car crossed and cut off Turner out of nowhere, which prompted her to stomp the breaks.

When Turner grew level with the car at stoplights, the men in the car started showing her [middle] finger and began screaming the N-word.

Things went to the point that the passenger and driver both leaned over and spat on Turner’s car first and then on her face.

Nischelle later pursued her assailants with hopes to catch their number plates and report them to authorities, which she did.

Unfortunately, Turner has very little hopes in receiving justice for that event since the COVID-19 pandemic has shut down the whole world.

Apart from this singularly moving encounter of racism, there are other times during which Turner was made feel that she was out of place.

A network that she worked for before, specifically the network manager, once told her that she should be grateful for what she had, implying her black ethnicity.

When the time came to renew her contract, she left the network for the better.

Turner also faced racism at Entertainment Tonight, but not in greater magnitudes like the one in her previous job.

The fact that people called out on her for needing special attention when all she asked was a hairstylist who could work with her type of hair made her feel discriminated.
