A family member began calling him “tWitch” because he danced a lot since he was little.
First, he was on Star Search, then America’s Best Dance Crew, getting second place.
From Alabama, he went to LA for MTV’s The Wade Robson Project and won third place.

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ Death
On December 13, 2022, Boss was found dead in Encino, Los Angeles.
Police reports stated that his death was a suicide, caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was 40 years old.
In the early hours of that day, Boss’s spouse, Allison, informed the authorities that he had left home without his car. Later, civilians reported of a shooting at the Oak Tree to the police.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found tWitch, dead in a bathtub with a suicide note. Full content of the suicide note remains undisclosed but sources claim that tWitch had written about his past struggles.
He was 40 years old at the time of his death.
After his death, Allison shared a heartfelt statement on December 14.
She described him as a husband, father, and inspiration to fans. She mentioned his devotion to family, friends, and the community.
Boss was laid to rest at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

A small funeral was held for Boss on January 4, 2023. A month later, a celebration of life service happened in Los Angeles to honor tWitch, two months after he died by himself.
Allison, their three children, and about 500 people, including Wayne Brady and Ellen DeGeneres, were there.
Holker called her late husband a “light.” She said, “He picked love, grace, and kindness. And he should be celebrated.”
